Overview:
The NIOSH Approved Web Based Spirometry Refresher Course offers those who have previously completed a NIOSH approved Spirometry course a web based Spirometry Refresher course that can be completed at their own pace and schedule. The course materials can be accessed and completed from any computer with internet access.

Goals:
This interactive program provides a comprehensive narrative on virtually all aspects of occupational spirometry. It gives easy to understand instruction and provides printable exercises to reinforce a deeper understanding of the intricacies of quality spirometry. Topics include but are not limited to: Overview of Pulmonary Anatomy and Physiology, Overview of Spirometry, Quality Assurance Procedures, Spirometric Technique, Basic Spirometric Calculations, Comparison of Observed to Predicted Reference Values, Evaluating Change in Follow-Up Spirograms, Overview of Standards for Spirometry Equipment, Examples and Exercises.
 


After completion of each chapter, you are asked questions pertaining to the chapter material and you instantly know if you are correct in your answers or if you need further instruction. The chapters can be completed and saved allowing you to proceed through the course at your own pace. At the completion of the course, you will be given a test and must pass the post-course exam with a score of 70% or better.
